Our Approach PDF Print E-mail

Our approach to any project begins with seeing the project from your perspective and becoming invested in your project goals.  Just as important is incorporating your business and IT strategy, as well as considering critical tactical organizational goals. Accomplishing IT goals must meet defined business needs. Our approach permits our team to gain an understanding of these needs so that we can help you articulate project expectations.

We bring our direct experience in project management, strategic planning, business analysis, cost control and risk mitigation to every project, regardless the size, challenge or complexity.  These skills allow us to better assess your vision, objectives and apprehensions.  There are few projects without sticking points, and there are no projects without stakeholders.   The ArcSource team will be your ally in working through the rough spots, helping you gain buy-in and keeping the stakeholders comfortable with the process.

We know that every organization “communicates” differently and that organizational culture dictates that process.  Because of this, the cornerstone of our approach depends on a successful rapport with you and your team.   After the scope statements, business and functional requirements, and time lines are approved, the most important component really boils down to good communication, trust, knowing what is expected and delivering on it.

Since its inception, ArcSource Group has used open source software and scripting as an approach to deliver customized, robust and scalable technology to meet our clients’ goals.  Open source software offers the distinct advantage of flexible and functional application development and results in a highly reliable and secure solution that is technology-neutral.

Prototyping

Prototyping is a powerful modeling approach that helps clients visualize the aesthetics and design of a new web site, the functionality of a complex web application or the integration of various web-based systems. ArcSource Group has found prototyping to be a robust tool that brings both visual and technical clarity to a project, within a much shorter timeframe and at a lower cost than would be needed to simulate the entire approach. These benefits lower the risk for you and your organization.

Where mock-ups and wireframes can communicate the look, feel and general structure of a web site, they usually cannot convey the functionality, features, annotations or interactions associated with complex projects. Prototyping can convey not just the idea or concept, but how those ideas and concepts actually work. Most importantly, this modeling can help build out requirements that may have otherwise been overlooked, by letting your team, and other important stakeholders within your organization, review and approve the concept in a collaborative environment.
